Following the global Paris Agreement in 2015, the Government of Kerala recognized both the ecological richness and climate vulnerability of Wayanad. In the 2016–17 Budget Speech, the state announced the Carbon Neutral Wayanad Initiative — and from that vision, the Climate Smart Coffee Project was born. This isn’t just a development scheme.
