Chapter 2: My First Work in the Field

Climate-Smart Coffee Series                            Chapter 2: My First Work in the Field When I officially joined the Climate-Smart Coffee Project, it didn’t start in an office or a meeting room. It started on the road — moving from village to village, walking through coffee farms, and learning from farmers directly. ''The Story Behind the Blog''

''Brewing the First chapter''

''It was just another morning after a long field visit. I was sitting there, quiet, with a warm cup of coffee held between my hands.

As I watched the steam rise, a question hit me:

"How was this coffee actually born?"

I thought back to the farmers I had spent my day with. I remembered their faces, the dirt on their hands, and the incredible stories they shared with me during our training sessions. Each farmer has a story. Each coffee bean has a history. Yet, most of us drink our daily cup without ever knowing the names of the people behind it—especially the small, minority farmers who do the hardest work.

I felt a sudden "click" in my mind.

I have these stories. I have this experience. These stories are rare, and I knew that if I was curious, there must be others—children, students, and coffee lovers globally—who would be curious too.

I started searching for a way to bridge that gap. I needed a name that felt like "me." I looked at the coffee in my hand, I thought of my name, Krishna Chandana, and the nickname KC just fit perfectly.
Coffee Talks with KC isn't just a blog; it’s a window into the world of the people who grow our mornings.

Grab a mug, and let’s talk coffee—Wayanad farmers, their stories, and mine too.
